Miri it is while sumer y-last
With fogeles song.
Oc nu neheth windes blast
And weder strong.
Ei! Ei! What this nicht is long,
And ich with wel michel wrong,
Soregh and morn and fast.
Merry it is while summer does last
With the feathered ones’ song.
But now nears the wind’s cold blast
And weather strong.
Hey! Hey! What, this night is long.
And I with well much now wrong,
Sorrow, mourn and fast.
